April-May Update
New Features on the Website (Have fun clicking the links!)
Upcoming events are now listed on the Website. Check them out frequently.
Store: We intend to make the Christview Ministries Website the most convenient and helpful place on the Internet to buy resources for Bible interpretation, Christian spiritual formation, and church leadership development. We have recently added recommendations for Bible commentaries on Luke and Matthew. We have made some small improvements to our previously published recommendations for Ruth and Mark. Next in line: John, Acts, Romans, and 1 and 2 Corinthians. Let us know what you want to see in the store.
To help support Christview Ministries, always start your Amazon.com shopping at our Website. Christview gets a higher commission if you buy something to which we have provided a specific link, but, if we do not yet have a link for what you want to buy, Christview will still get a commission from anything you buy using our general link to Amazon.com. The general link appears on our Homepage, on our Resources Page, and at the bottom of each recommendation page.
Pictures: You’ve been asking to see more pictures, and so here is our Photo Gallery. More will appear regularly, so keep checking back. Have fun with them on the Website, and then come visit Christview Ministries Center in person to compare what you can see on the real site.
Past: Also new on our Website is an up-to-date archive of Newsletters and Email Updates: You can catch up on our history!
Revisions: One of the great things about publishing on the Web is that everything is continually updatable. The Bible Study on the Book of Ruth has undergone minor revision.
No Answer on Our Phone?
When we are working on our Website or answering Email, our answering machine will not come on nor will you get a busy signal: the phone just silently rings and rings. If that happens, you may try Judy’s cell phone: (870) 654-2426.
We are awaiting a high-speed Internet solution that we hope to have within two months.

Dedication Day Was Wonderful
Great food! Great music! Great scenery! Great fellowship! Great fun! And, above all, making friends in a great shared mission!
Representatives of many branches of Christ’s church were present at our April Dedication Day to rehearse for our interdenominational, cross-cultural, and musically rich fellowship in heaven.
It felt like we turned a corner on Dedication Day and are now settling into the heart of our work for Jesus.
Blessings to all who had a part in making this day so special!

“Personal Salvation and Sharing Good News: A Ten-Session Bible Study” Got Underway Monday, May 2, 7:00—8:30 PM
Flooring specialists Terry Husberg and Steve Helm were laying carpet at Christview Ministries Center. They asked to be kept informed about future Bible study plans. They wanted Bible study that was solid, that was spiritually refreshing, that was more than one person’s interpretation, and that would be helpful in evangelistic witness. The course, based on Acts 2:36-39, is intended to cover the basics of the faith in a way that is at once solid, fresh, and practical.
Eleven of us gathered for the first session (See photos). New students are still welcome May 9, 16, 23, June 6, 13, 20, 27, July 11, 18. No sessions May 30 or July 4. Each session will be designed to stand on its own, although, of course, the more sessions one attends, the more one will gain of the big picture.
A New Endorsement of John’s Teaching
“John Turner, in the study of the Book of Ruth, introduces five approaches to Bible study. Understanding these five approaches provides options for more effectively presenting Bible truths to people with different learning styles and for different purposes. I found it absolutely fascinating and exciting. While a tremendous amount of material was presented, all of it was given to the participant in a written format. This allows for a ready reference in the future, as well as a tool for deeper, slower, reflective, individual study later. I was particularly surprised to realize the relevance of the Book of Ruth to issues I am currently confronting, but the study provided many other emphases, which would stand out for individuals currently confronting other issues. I thank God for the opportunity John Turner provides for deep, methodical, clear, challenging, sound biblical teaching. This is something I have longed for my entire life.”
Karen Stalnaker, 1st Christian Church, Harrison, AR. (More endorsements of the Turner’s work).

The “Bible Study of the Book of Ruth” Class to Be Offered Again
We plan to offer our study of the Book of Ruth again. This small book is an ideal size for learning the methods of Bible study while coming up with fresh and applicable understandings of the book’s message. With lunch included, the whole course takes six hours. You will come away with increased skills and with stimulating ideas. Email John if you are interested in our future plans for this course or if you have suggestions on good times to schedule it.
