CHRISTVIEW AT CHRISTMOUNT
Christview Ministries founders John and Judy Turner will be the keynote speakers for Christmount Week, October 18-23, 2010, at Christmount Christian Assembly, the camp, conference, and retreat center for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Black Mountain, North Carolina. John will present three Bible lectures and Judy will deliver four sermons during the event. For more information, check these links:
TEENAGERS LOVE CHRISTVIEW!
Eight teenage girls recently had a spiritual growth retreat at Christview. They talked with older Christians who shared what helps them grow in relationship with God. During individual time, they worked on spiritual disciplines such as prayer, study, fellowship, service, sacrifice, and celebration. The singing during worship time was beautiful. There was plenty of talking and laughing. The teens are asking when we can have another retreat. Maybe after the adult sponsors recover from sleep deprivation!
JOHN AND JUDY CALLED AS PASTORS OF FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF BERRYVILLE
John and Judy have served as Interim Transformational Ministry Leaders of the congregation, which has now called them as pastors, contracting with Christview Ministries for their services. Judy says, “We have opportunities to fulfill our Christview mission of mentoring spiritual leaders as we help the congregation fulfill its mission of building a community of hope by drawing people to Jesus, becoming more like Jesus, and doing the work of Jesus.” Christview students Scott and Amanda Frame serve on the ministerial staff of the church as Youth Leaders. The youth ministry continues to grow, with as many as 40 teens participating in a youth worship service on Wednesday nights. Since November, 11 children and teens have made decisions to follow Christ and have been baptized.

If you do not need a degree, Christview Ministries offers a unique combination of Bible study, spiritual direction, spiritual formation, and practical training. We believe that we may be able to help you find a setting for practical training under Christview supervision. Talk to us about your interests and needs, and we will explore what we could work out that would be mutually beneficial.
FEAR? GET PAST IT!
Workshop for Women
Saturday, May 1, 8:45 to Noon
at the Christview Ministries Center
You will gain tools for fear-free living from God’s Word through interactive study, discussion, and reflection. The workshop will be led by Carolyn Biossat, Bible study leader and author of “Antidote to Fear: Faith”. Cost: Donate to Christview Ministries, as you are able.

WHAT IS OFFERED THROUGH CHRISTVIEW?
BIBLE TEACHING
John helps students discover the kinds of things we can learn from the Bible by focusing on historical background, literary structure, word study, and biblical theology. His teaching is filled with fresh insights that students say bring the word of God alive for them. John teaches individuals and groups of students who meet at Christview Ministries Center and at First Christian Church of Berryville. He can also do Bible presentations in your church.
SPIRITUAL DIRECTION
Spiritual direction is the centuries-old tradition of one Christian listening with another Christian for the direction of the Holy Spirit.
People come to spiritual direction with questions such as:
- How can I know God better and grow closer to God?
- How can I experience God’s presence in my daily life?
- How can I better “hear” what God is saying to me?
- How can I become more Christ-like in my thoughts, attitudes, and actions?
Judy listens with people for God’s invitation to grow spiritually. She suggests ways of praying and spiritual practices which lead to a deeper relationship with God. She prays with people in overcoming obstacles to loving and serving God. Judy offers spiritual direction ministry during 60-90 minute sessions. The sessions can be scheduled on a weekly or monthly basis, or during a spiritual retreat.
RETREATS
The Christview Ministries Center offers a quiet place for spiritual renewal. John and Judy design retreats that meet the needs of individuals and groups.
COACHING LIFE SKILLS AND MINISTRY SKILLS
John and Judy offer Life Coaching to help people develop skills such as communication, time-management, and boundary setting, to become more effective in Christian living. John and Judy also offer Ministry Coaching as people discover their gifts and serve in meeting particular needs.
